Savage Gary is the solo project of synthesiser whiz and award-winning producer Dan Carey. Despite a forced gap from his busy recording schedule, Dan keeps himself busy with his other band Scottibrains, and his Savage Gary Quarantine Series which sees the likes of mindful wordsmith Kate Tempest and Heartworms feature on tracks. The fresh addition to the series is 'The Week'. A grimy beat immersed in sub bass paves the way for demented synthesisers that roar like hungry lions. A fizzy arpeggiator plays a hypnotically repetitive line which would keep you on your dancing feet for hours. Spiky synth stabs and vocal snippets are added, ramping up the intensity and chaos. 'The Week' gets progressively madder as the minutes pass, with the addition of scattered percussion loops which sound like they were played on pots and pans..it seems like Dan is entering a slightly manic and wonderfully energetic soundscape, perhaps induced by the current state of isolation? - We can all relate.
